The Friends of Bramley Baths are inviting potential Board Members with solid experience of business, social enterprise and community initiatives to help govern this newly opened enterprise.
Bramley Baths is a not-for-profit enterprise managed by the Friends of Bramley Baths as Bramley Baths & Community Ltd, an Industrial Provident Society. An interim board is in place, chaired by John Battle.
The trustees are responsible for governing Bramley Baths, an art-deco swimming pool, gym and social hub in West Leeds. The building opened as a public swimming baths in 1904 and the Friends of Bramley Baths have led an asset transfer which came into effect in December 2012 to ensure a bright future for Bramley Baths as a community-led enterprise.
We are particularly interested in hearing from people with professional legal, accounting and HR skills. We are also interested to hear from people who have strong relationships with other sporting or educational initiatives in the city, a passion for West Leeds and a strong interest in a community like ours, situated in Bramley & Stanningley Ward and directly engaging with communities in Rodley, Farsley, Pudsey, Horsforth, Kirkstall and Holt Park.
The Board meets on a regular basis at Bramley Baths. We’re a friendly team of people, brought together by a shared vision for Bramley Baths, to be the friendliest sports & social centre in the UK; to make health, fitness and fun accessible to more people; and to be a springboard for community-development in the area.
